The long awaited President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Nigeria and is been welcomed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. After spending 103 days in London, United Kingdom where he undergone medical treatment.
The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo was there to receive him home with other top government officials at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
On speculations that Buhari had been forced to return due to the return or resigns protests in Abuja and London, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, told reporters at the airport that President Buhari’s return had nothing to do with the “return or resign protests” going on in some parts of Nigeria and London.
He also stated that he and some of the presidential aides knew of his return some days earlier stated, that "The return of the President has nothing to do with the protest, it is about continuing with the work he started.
Others at the airport were the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar; members of the Federal Executive Council as well as presidential aides.
A very large crowd trooped out and lined up the airport road to welcome the president with a heavy security presence.
